About

We are a team studying at Utrecht University. It is our ambition to remake the game Gaplus and bring its legacy back to the modern era.

Here is a brief overview of the developers working on the project:

Jesse van der Ceelen
Hiya! I am, like the rest of us, a Gametechnology student at Utrecht University. My love for gaming started with Pokemon Gold and it kinda snowballed from there to me deciding to make my life's work making games myself. I really like the Japanese game styles and genres (RPG's in particular), something I hope to be able to express while working on Gaplus.

Timon van Hardeveld
Hello, Timon here! I am a 19 years old Gametechnology student at Utrecht University. Starting early in my life playing with games like The Incredible Machine(TIM) on floppydisk and James Bond on the Nintento64, I didn't realize at that time that I would be developing games in the future. And here I am, really looking forward to this project, and really being motivated to do everything I can to deliver a game that everyone will love.

Martin Korevaar
Hi, my name is Martin Korevaar and I'm 20 years old. I've been a gamer since I was 6 years old. I live in Capelle aan den IJssel, a city near Rotterdam. I spend most of my time either playing games with friends or watching movies or television series. I'm looking forward to remaking Gaplus, I believe we can make a great game out of it.

Joris Neyt
Hi there, I am Joris, a 19 year old student at Utrecht University. I have a love for games since I was young, starting with Lego Rockraider and CnC: Generals. RPG's and RTS' have always had a special place in my heart. Besides gaming, I love Chinese and Korean culture, literature and music. I am also interested in travelling to learn more about our history, but hey, never got enough money for that.

Robin Noten
Hello there, my name is Robin and I'm 21 years old. I'm a student at the university of Utrecht, currently in my first year studying Game technology. I have loved games since early childhood when I played both Pokémon Blue for the Game Boy and the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the Nintendo64. When I have free time on my hands I enjoy reading/watching a good story and to play some Strategy games with friends, or some Adventure/RPG/Storytelling games when I am on my own. I am very excited for this project since we have a very motivated team, and I hope to contribute to making this game one enjoyable to play.

Maarten Hogeveen
Hello, my name is Maarten and I'm 19 years old. I'm currently studying Gametechnology at the University of Utrecht. After high school I wasn't sure what I wanted to do. Biology, Physics and IT were the things I was interested in. I decided it would be best to take a gap year and think about what I wanted to do in the future. While I was working to be able to go to New Zealand, I came across the IT information day at the University of Utrecht. By chance I sat down at a lecture about Gametechnology. That lecture left me without a doubt that this was the right thing for me to do. Seeing as gaming had always been my most favourite thing to do. With that in mind, I'm very excited for this project and I'm happy to be part of this ambitious and enjoyable team.

Michiel Roorda
Cower brief mortals, for I am Michiel Roorda, game technology student at the University of Utrecht. Similar to my fellow students to many of our generation, I have been playing video games from the time of my childhood. Over time, I got interested in more than just playing games. I started paying attention to what choices the developers made, to storylines and to music. In high school I chose the course Informatica, which got me started with programming. After high school I first tried Artificial Intelligence at the Radboud University Nijmegen, but because of several issues I quit that study. And now I am here in Utrecht, doing the most interesting study I could imagine. I believe that games are more than entertainment, they are art.
